I would like to add my 2 cents.
I think everyone is to blame in part. The haters should not even be involved but they are as obsessed with Clay as his fans are. The fans should ignore all of them, instead they are everywhere fighting with the haters. All that does is keep the flames burning so whats the point? Takes two to fight so why not leave them alone and they can fight amongst themselves. One thing to read but another thing to post. Simple really, just don't post.
Clay is an entertainer, he has a record label, handlers etc. He also has a mother of his own. He has people to guide him. Clay is responsible for what he does with what he has been given or pays for. If he chooses not to listen, argue, throw himself around etc. then he has to pay the price for that. Eventually he will figure it out and either win or lose. He doesn't need advice from his fans or to be told what to do, he doesn't need any more mothers than the one he already has.The fans need to stay out of his life and his career.
Fans need to stop spamming, writing back to critics, DJ's, and anyone else who writes anything unfavorable about Clay. Clay has people he pays to handle his problems and if they choose to ignore then so should the fans. All it does is add fuel to the fire. Leave it all alone and leave Clay to handle things himself.Clay is not someone we as fans own. He has a job and that is to do exactly what he does. Our job is to purchase the products he produces if we like it, go to the shows if we can when he is in our area and to purchase the merchandise he puts out. That's it nothing more, nothing less.
We as fans have no right to demand anything of him and we certainly shouldn't make spectacles of ourselves as it makes Clay look bad as well. If Clay puts out a garbage CD then don't buy it, he will get the picture when the sales aren't there.
How can Clay or his management company handle anything when the fans run ahead of them and make a bigger mess of things.
How can the scandal die down when the fans are right there daily fighting with the ones that started it? At this point it doesn't matter if it's true or not, just leave it and them alone.
If Clay wants input from his fans he will ask for it and it won't be in a snarky way. Then by all means be honest and adult about telling him until then just enjoy what he offers and leave the rest alone for him to handle.
I want to see him succeed and he will if he wants to. That is totally up to him. All I need to do is open my wallet if I like what he is selling.
Most of us don't know what goes on behind the scenes, we don't know much of anything so how can we think we have the right to interfere?
The sad thing is the ones that get attacked by the fans or non fans have no way of knowing if it is or isn't a fan doing the attacking. They just assume it is the fans and if it is known to be a hater because they lay the bait, the fans jump right in there defending in a not so nice way giving them and Clay a bad reputation. Everything the fans do goes right back on Clay fair or not.I think the best thing to do is just not respond period.
We can show Clay more quietly by supporting him and his endeavors, charities etc. Leave the rest completely alone.
