A Fans Comment

There are some excellent points made in the following comment that was in the last blog.

I thought it deserved a blog of it's own.

Just the for heck of it, I looked up the word "fan" in the dictionary to see if I could find anything different in there than what I already knew. Technically, a "fan" is short for a "fanatic" and two other words that are shown under "fan" were devotee and extremist which leads me to my next statement. If any celebritydom has their share of "extremists", it is definitely Clay Nation.

Without getting too similar to the individuals that I dislike, I am going to make an attempt to discuss some things pertaining to haters that I think people are just not thinking about.

For example; why is it that the most reviled person in all of "Clay Nation" has the most blog hits? Only Clay himself has more. Initially he made a name for himself because he spoke of his supposed encounter with Clay Aiken, but his 15 minutes of fame should have ended right there, but it hasn't. It has lasted several years. Why? Because Clay fans continue to go to his blog and leave nasty comments, taunts, and insults. This person apparently has his own fans. Former Claymates, or just fans because some sleazy tabloid or two decided to pick up the story and run with it and they liked him. Why? Who knows and who cares?

But I question the people that go there who are just the haters. They accuse us of being blind to Clay's supposed lifestyle. No one is blind. We all read and see and hear what's being said. Most of us just choose not to believe it, or better yet, just ignore it. It is a choice. This now famous blogger states that he initially came out with the info about Clay because Clay was misrepresenting himself, and that the fans had "the right" to know. Well, we've heard what he has to say, and really, it's no big deal anymore. So my question to this man is this:

When you enlisted in the military, did you tell your commanding officers and the recruiters and platoon that you were gay? Or did you follow the "don't ask/don't tell" rule? If you kept your secret, you were misrepresenting yourself, and your platoon had a "right" to know that they were sharing the shower and crapper with a gay man. I can't imagine you telling them, because it's pretty much obvious that the majority of men and women in the military hate homosexuals. I say this based on knowledge from friends and family members, both male and female,, who have been in the military, who claimed that such knowledge usually ended in discontent and a lack of camaraderie that makes up the familial atmosphere needed to work together. This doesn't even include the hate induced actions against the gay/lesbian individuals involved. Now I don't know about anybody else, but becoming a United States soldier in any of the branches of military and misrepresenting oneself is a hell of a lot worse than "misrepresenting" people who watch a t.v. show and listen to a celebrity's music.

I also say to the Clay fans who have become turncoats. What exactly is it that you have proof of that made you hate Clay? This person's story? Where's is his proof? The supposed juggernaut, the washcloth, has yet to be determined to be anyone's but his.

To all of the former fans or even the original haters who never liked Clay to begin with, you guys are as obsessed as you accuse us of being, only worse. If you hate Clay, fine. That's your right. But don't hide behind your white hoods of hypocrisy. Be a PROUD hater! State your name for all to see. Have the bal-guts to say "I don't like Clay Aiken because...". What exactly are you afraid of? Retaliation? Why should there be retaliation merely because you do not like Clay? Unless, of course, your actions and words are hurtful and wrong, and you know it. If you don't like Clay's haircut, or music, or certain actions, there is nothing wrong with saying that. It's how you say it. If there are OTT (over the top) fans who hate you because you state a comment about that, then they are no better than the haters. I shall address that as well.

A "true" hater aka fanatic (as opposed to a "real" or "true" fan), is someone who cannot stand Clay but continues to obsess over him and visit other boards and blogs merely to get a reaction out of the Claymates. And they get what they want. They are fans too. Fanatics. Don't you guys see that? The hated blogger is making fun of you, as are the haters whose replies pepper his blog. And you are giving more ammunition each time you open your mouths. The more ridiculous and hateful to him you act, the more outrageous he becomes. This will continue on until the last "true" Clay fans stop going over there and just leave this man alone to rot with the true haters. Misery loves company folks. Don't join in on it! None of us are ever going to one up that queen, so why bother? He will be famous and continue to become more so, because the more you go over there and post, the more well-known he becomes. He went from a nobody to a somebody because you gave him attention. It doesn't matter if it was negative, it's still attention, and if you haven't figured it out yet, you never will. He loves attention!

Now about the people who claim they are "true" fans. -Or so they call themselves. Actually, they names themselves after narcotic drugs (that's a telling sign right there), cereal, and flowers. There are a couple of people whose blogs I do like that are out there, but none of them are the abovementioned. It's time to come out of the closet. I mean the medicine cabinet. Take off your white pointy hats of hypocrisy and stand tall and proud!

Please, why is it that the one whom you hate the most is the only one who is using his real name? Why don't you use YOUR real name? What do YOU have to be ashamed of? Retaliation? Again, if your actions and words are not hurtful to others or Clay, then why not just tell the whole world that you love Clay Aiken? If you are a "proud" Clay Aiken fan, and proud of how you handle yourself, why should you hide? But if, of course, you're doing something you know is wrong, then of course you're going to hide! Stop using that anonymous feature and say your name as well, even if it is just your first name. If you're a proud Clay fan, don't let the likes of "those" people stop you from saying that. Be brave, stand up for Clay, but do so with some class and tact in a way you know Clay would want his "true" fans to behave. of course it's not going to be as effective and "meaningful" as calling him a mother fucker and repugnant, etc. But no matter what words you use, no matter what you say, you are not going to get the best of him.

The main reason is this: When you post a response, you are reacting to a comment. It's instantaneous, spur of the moment, in the heat of anger, whatever. Now the blogger has time to digest what you have posted, and he takes the time to think about the best way to approach your response to make you look ridiculous. Then he 'vlogs" or blogs, after having time to compose it in his head. And he again makes people look like idiots. It's what he is good at, unfortunately. What he does is wrong. What you do is worse. Why? Because it should be like the gnats Clay talks about. They are bothersome, but inconsequential in the scheme of things. Yet, supposedly the "true" fans listed above are the ones who are supposedly finding out social security numbers, or addresses, phone numbers, and posting them on the internet. That is not going to help Clay further his career one bit. That is not "Claying It Forward", or protecting him, or supporting him. In fact, the actions of those few that make us all look bad, and I for one, do not want to be lumped together with Ms. Cereal, and Ms. Narcotic.

So, proud Clay fans stand tall. If you are going to come to Clay's defense, do so, but do so honestly. Don't backstab, harass, or accuse others of not being "true" when you yourself are behaving in a vicious and possibly illegal manner. You often state that Clay has "the right" to privacy, and his life is his life. Yet you go and post a "wall of shame", stalk, call, follow, and point people out to the world of Clay Nation, all for the sake of "loving and supporting" Clay. That is not unconditional love, nor is it unconditional support.

Clay would want his fans to have the freedom to state how they feel about things, as long as it is said in a respectful manner. Saying "Oh man, I think Clay is gaining too much weight" is not hateful. It is an opinion. Just an opinion. Where is the hate in that? But if someone says, "omg, look at Clay! He's becoming a fat slob, and should stop eating KK donuts and Mac and Cheese", now that is hateful. Learn the difference folks.

Now let's see what happens after I post this. Let's see how many times I am accused of "hating" Clay because I don't agree with everything he does, or because I criticize the haters and bloggers as well as The Blogger. Let's see who freaks out and calls me names and says I am not a "true" fan. (By whose definition are we going by anyway?)

Dogs, on the other hand, offer a great variety of breed options that are best suited to the owner's personality. If it doesn't, then your chameleon is most likely dehydrated. Additionally, there are all sorts of health problems that go along with a bad diet.
